Dr. Laralyn RiverWind (born September 16, 1972) is an American ambassador, author, musician, and co-founder of FireKeepers International 501c3 [1].
Dr. RiverWind was born in Cumming, Georgia on September 16, 1972 to Dr. Lew Davis and Mariesa Davis. She is of Irish, British and Cherokee descent and is the eldest of three children.
She attended Tallahassee Community College, earning an Associate of Arts Degree. From 1991-1992, she served as President of the Student Senate at William Rainey Harper Community College [2]. She went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Valdosta State University in 2000, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In 2015, Dr. RiverWind achieved a Doctorate of Naturopathy from Trinity School of Natural Health [SOURCE] [3]
Dr. RiverWind is one of the lead vocalists for the band "The Blessed Blend" [SOURCE OR LINK]. Her work on the "Tribal Thunder" album, which she and her husband, Chief Joseph RiverWind, produced, won the 2011 Native American Music Awards Rock Recording of the Year[4].
Alongside her husband, Dr. Laralyn is a co-Author of two books, “That’s What The Old Ones Say: Pre-Colonial Revelations of God to Native America” [5] and “When The Fires Come: A Comparison of First Nations and Biblical Prophecies”[6]. Dr. RiverWind is Co-Founder and CEO of FireKeepers International 501c3 [7], established in 2016. At FireKeepers International, she is committed to building relationships with individuals, tribes, organizations, and nations by preserving heritage life skills, educating in-person and via the Internet, and fostering resilient communities that are well prepared for emergencies and unanticipated hardships.
Appointed by Chief Lucian Lamar Sneed, Dr.RiverWind has been the ambassador at large for the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee [8] since 2019
Dr. RiverWind Represents the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee (a state-recognized tribe) at the National Congress of American Indians in Washington, D.C. as a voting member. She is active in cultural and political bridge-building, education and preservation.
Dr. RiverWind was honored by the Tennessee State Legislature, She Leads America and She Leads as a Women Leaders of Distinction on April 28, 2023. [9]
Dr. RiverWind was involved with the founding of the Indigenous Embassy [10] established February 1, 2024 in Jerusalem[11].
